Reese Witherspoon HIT BY A CAR while jogging

Reese Witherspoon was rushed to the Santa Monica hospital around 11am today, after having a car hit the celebrity while she was jogging.

Law enforcement informs TMZ, Reese's injuries were very minor -- almost nothing life-threatening.

Based on law enforcement, the driver was an 84-year-old woman. We're told Reese was crossing the street at the time of the accident ... and the driver failed to stop.

The driver was reported for failure in order to yield into a pedestrian and released.
